In the Spring of 2026, Flash Forest partnered with Cheslatta Carrier Nation to initiate a trial on planting its seed pods directly behind a skidder during site preparation operations using Flash Forest's Ground Based Deployer.

By combining planting operations with existing site-prep machinery, Flash Forest can reduce planting costs and simplify regeneration projects. The exposed soil created by the site prep machine makes ideal microsites for Flash Forest's Seed pods to germinate.

The project took place near Burns Lake BC, involved 130,000pods, two days of operating, and covered 16 hectares of land. Our deployer records the GPS data from each pod, giving us precise post-operation metrics to report to clients. The data is entered into our post processing software to generate shape files, planting densities, performance metrics, and a heatmap of the covered area.

This project will be monitored by Flash Forest, with theresults directly compared against a control to generate a clear picture of theproject performance. Flash Forest looks forward to adding this new technologyto our planting repertoire, allowing us to build a custom solution that matchesthe needs of project.
