March 15, 2024, Flash Forest manually installed five Permanent Sampling Plots (PSP) to trial winter deployment of seed pods. Each plot consists of two rows of twenty seedpods: one row with seedpods embedded into the ground and one row with seedpods dropped on the surface. Each seedpod was flagged with a pin flag. There was very little snow left at the time, but hand embedding was only partially possible due to the frozen ground conditions. Seeds in the seedpods were from the same seedlot as below.
