Our Mission

Rapid post-wildfire reforestation.

We’re an aerial reforestation company that uses a data-driven, biodiversity-centric approach to rebuild healthy resilient forests at scale.

We started Flash Forest with one clear goal: plant 1 billion trees by 2028 to heal our planet’s lungs, and not stop there.

By leveraging drone, AI, GIS, and plant science technology, we bring new levels of accuracy, precision and speed to the reforestation industry, and are working to reforest post-wildfire areas that are deemed too unsafe for human tree planters. Our technology is part of a larger call for rapidly scalable solutions to our global ecological crisis.

Forest fire landscape mid-burn

9.3 million hectares of land are lost to wildfires globally each year.

That’s an area the size of Portugal completely devastated, in just one year. These landscapes have been notoriously difficult to reforest in the past, with many sites deemed unsafe for human access and unable to regenerate naturally. As these numbers continue to grow, we’ve made it our mission to change the story.

Forests are critical in the fight against climate change.

Forests are home to over 80% of the world's terrestrial biodiversity. Over 1.6 billion people depend directly on forests for livelihood, medicine, and energy. The socio-economic cost of climate change is also high, and can be expected to shave 11-14 percent off global economic output by 2025, according to some reports. Trees play a key role in reducing flood, soil erosion, and regulating global weather systems.
